So we now know that American rendition flights (transporting people to possibly be tortured) did land on British soil, I recommend that all American flights are subject to physical checks in order to prevent any further 'clerical errors'.
I think that we are too close to America in our dealings with the world.
Other nations put their own interests first and Britain should do the same whilst still showing compassion to others.

If invading Iraq was to bring an end to the suffering of the people when are we going to invade Zimbabwea and remove Mugabe ? or don't the people there have an equal right to protection from a tyrant ?
Have you ever wondered why the World bank, The United Nations, The World trade Centre and many other important institutions have their headquarters in America ?
We are swamped with American TV programmes and films whilst our high streets are packed with American products it is as if there has been an invasion without a shot being fired.
I do think that American actions are destabilising various parts of the world and that Russia is right to object to missile bases being built on it's borders.
Not everything about America is bad but we are in danger of loosing our identity.
