The 2 year guarantee

Anything that you buy from a retailer in the UK has a 2 year guarantee (not just 1 year)

The 2 year guarantee is EU law. The specific EU directive is  1999/44/EC

You can demand a refund if you decide not to have the item repaired.

You are not required to prove the fault was not down to your actions and you must report it within two months of it happening.

Your guarantee is with the retailer who sold you the item (not the manufacturer).

A retailer cannot get out of this guarantee using "company policy".

If you need further  help get in touch with trading standards at Norfolk District Council.
